Every 6 years, stored-pressure dry chemical fire extinguishers require a complete mechanical teardown. We completely discharge the chemical agent, inspect all internal parts, replace the core valve components and O-rings, refill the agent, and repressurize the cylinder with dry nitrogen gas to keep the system working perfectly.
Required by NFPA 10Standard dry chemical units must pass a high-pressure hydrostatic structural integrity check every 12 years (every 5 years for CO2 or water units).
